Good morning everyone and my apologies, but due to an art-block (I have no other way to describe it, everything I drew just felt and looked like crap) and no buffer, there will be no page update of Demon Hunter Kain today. I am hoping to have the new page up later this week. Thanks for you patience and continued support.

Well we’ve come to the end of another chapter, I hope you’ve all had fun reading it. Thank you for joining me on this ride through New Babylon with Kain and Zandalee. And thank you one and all for the comments and encouragement, it is truly appreciated.
Chapter 4, is currently in the works, and this is usually the part where I tell you all that the comic will be back in two weeks. I have to give out bad news at this time: Demon Hunter Kain will not return until January 7th, 2013.
Please, put down your pitch forks and torches, I have good reason and need for this extended break.
I want and need to build a page buffer. I’ve been drawing a page a week from the beginning of the series and it’s starting to wear thin now. I love writing and drawing Kain but I’ve been shackling my self to my Cintiq every weekend for far too long because of my self-imposed deadlines and for that feeling of accomplishment when a new page is done (That feeling of accomplishment is a hell of a drug.). Also the buffer is security. It’d be good to know that I have extra pages of Kain ready to go if I get sick or need to run out of town for a couple of weeks.
I thank you all in advance for your patience. I will be giving updates along the way and a few sketches here and there. So until January 7th, all of you take it easy and have a good one.
Sorry everyone, there will be No Demon Hunter Kain this week. I was fighting off illness for the better part of last week and I’m finally better, but not in time to finish this week’s page.
We’ll shall return next week. Thank you all again for reading Demon Hunter Kain. Take care.
When I started finalizing the Demon Hunter Kain universe I knew that I wouldn’t have much opportunity to show some of the learning experiences Kain had to go through to become an Apprentice Demon Hunter. So, inspired by Mike Mignola’s Hellboy short stories, I decided to make the “Kain: The Training Years” web comic. The Training Years will feature short stories that show Kain and his mentor(s) on various excursions all over the world as he strives to become a Demon Hunter.
The first of these will be The Goat-Foot Woman story. I know many people may have seen this short tale before. It was, after all, the first story I ever did that introduced Kain and his mother Liana. I took it down when I started up Chapter 1 after having a talk with my editor, Lynne Yoshii. We both felt that it would do better as a Training Years story. The Training Years stories will vary in length and subject matter. Some will be amusing, others will be horrific or downright disturbing. But rest assured that these tales will help to expand the Kain universe and give us more insight into the world and it’s characters.
Now for the good news, bad news part of the situation. The good news is that you will always get some story to keep you going until the main story returns. The bad part is; since these stories are meant to fill the empty gap between chapters of the main Demon Hunter Kain story, new chapters of Demon Hunter Kain (when on its in-between chapter breaks) will not return until the current Kain: The Training Years story has run its course.
You can find the link to the Kain: The Training Years site in this post and also in the menu bar above the comic. Just click on it and it will take you there. As always thanks for reading and enjoy!
Sorry everyone, I was really busy the past week an was unable to finish today’s scheduled post. The new page will be up next week. Thanks for you patience and for reading.
